I taught English for 25 years. After retiring from school I started working with translations, editing and proofreading.

My native language is Portuguese. I was certified Portuguese interpreter and translator by the state of Texas in 2004 by the Dallas County Community College System.

Translations

I have been working as full-time translator in various English to Brazilian Portuguese freelance projects since February 2013. During this time, I translated over 1,000,000 words in hundreds of projects for various clients, as well as proofread/edited hundreds of translations. My work experience has been focused on the education and health sectors, but I also concluded a diverse range of projects that include the translation of games, subtitles for feature films, workers' CVs, and several legal agreements and contracts.

I'm a Portuguese native speaker graduate in Translation and Interpretation with more than 3 years of experience in translation from English to Portuguese, Portuguese to English, Chinese to Portuguese, and Chinese to English and I would be very happy to join your team. Besides my experience as a freelance translator, I have also spent 2 years studying Translation and Interpretation in China and 4 months as an intern in a translation company in Stirling, Scotland. I take my work as a freelance translator and interpreter very seriously, always with attention to detail, while respecting every deadline.
