My name is Fanni, and I am currently studying International Business Economics at Corvinus University of Budapest. My native language is Hungarian, but besides that I speak English at an advanced level and I have an intermediate level Business Italian language certificate, moreover, I am preparing for an advanced level Business Italian language exam at the moment. I have translated theses, contracts, commercial texts and social media posts before, of which you can find some in my portfolio. I specialise in business-related translations, however, I enjoy being challenged and therefore I would be happy to translate other areas as well. I am a freelance Software/Web Developer and English to Italian Translator. I have translated a wide range of different subjects, including fiction (mainly sci-fi novels), technical texts (mainly IT and electronics), marketing items, company policies and internal memos, websites, etc. I also have about 3 years experience in simultaneous interpretation (from English to Italian) in public events. I perfected my English while living in Florida (3 years) and in Denmark (1 year), and regularly doing translation jobs in addition to my main software/web developer job.

I am a bilingual Italian English freelance translator with over 20 years experience in translations in the following fields: instruction books, manuals, industrial equipment, finance, law, fashion, footwear and apparel detailing, software, tanning industry, electronics, tourism, food (fresh produce), automotive, marketing, business, international trade, bank, civil engineering, tenders, contracts, subcontracts, consulting. I was born in the USA from Italian parents, and lived there up to age 13, thus growing up in a bilingual family and school environment. I achieved my degree as an English and French translator in 2000, and have been working since then as a translator, both freelance and in-house, in the following language pairs: ENG > IT, IT>EN, FR>IT.

I worked for 7 years for an engineering and consulting firm, translating all sorts of documents, administrative, technical, project-related, business and legal. I currently work as a freelance translator.

I am a freelance translator based in Milan. During my university years I have collaborated with many translation agencies, and now I am starting my freelance business. I have graduated with full marks in Linguistic and cultural mediation in 2019, with a thesis on the translation of a french user guide about e-agriculture. I have attended courses on literary translation, specialized translation, interpreting - chuchotage, conference interpreting and consecutive interpreting. I have done traineeships in 3 different LSP based in Milan, and I worked in each one during 3 months. I have improved my hard skills and I have gained some important soft skills - as teamwork, problem-solving and lateral thinking.
