I am fresh graduated in Oriental studies - Arabic and Chinese, and I would like to gain experience in the translation sector.

I am a freelance Software/Web Developer and English to Italian Translator. I have translated a wide range of different subjects, including fiction (mainly sci-fi novels), technical texts (mainly IT and electronics), marketing items, company policies and internal memos, websites, etc. I also have about 3 years experience in simultaneous interpretation (from English to Italian) in public events. I perfected my English while living in Florida (3 years) and in Denmark (1 year), and regularly doing translation jobs in addition to my main software/web developer job.

I love foreign languages since I was a child, I love traveling to get in touch with different cultures and to broad my horizon. I'm a German-Italian and English-Italian translator with experience as a CAT Expert and Project Coordinator. Convey the right style and tone for each audience is my priority. I am a PhD candidate at Koç University, Istanbul, at the faculty of Archaeology and History of Art. I have studied English for almost 20 years, I wrote my master thesis in English and my current PhD program is fully taught in English. I have translated a large amount of material from English to Italian, from Italian to English and from Turkish to English in the past years. In 2017 I got the TOEFL certificate with a score of 104/120. I write academic researches and texts in English on a weekly base, using materials written in various languages. Hello! My name is Sara and i am an italian translator! I started to translate in 2015 as volunteer translator for Rosetta Foundation. Then i started my experience with the Studio Barbara Cupiti Servizi Linguistici translating medical texts!

I started my career 21 years ago as in-house translator and PM at a translation agency based in Turin, Italy. After three years, I decided to take up the challenge and become a freelancer, in order to devote myself to those texts I was most interested in. My experience as PM gave me a deep insight into all aspects related to the translation process, thus I perfectly know and understand the needs and expectations of Project Managers whom I work with. I am able to work under pressure, and manage large volumes of work with no prejudice to quality. I am able to translate very technical texts, like instruction manuals for X-ray inspection systems, but also to use my creative side to produce translations of content marketing articles.

I am a native Italian speaker holding a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpreting in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with certain experience in the provision of language and language-related services. I am passionate about what I do - Linguistics has bewitched me since middle school - and I feel lucky to have the possibility to enjoy such a dynamic job.
