I am a professional English <> Turkish translator and proofreader. I completed numerous projects for several clients in multiple specializations. I have been in translation business since 2002, and have knowledge about all types of documents and CAT software.

I am Turkish and Azerbaijani citizen, and speaking both languages as mother tongue. I have studied an English medium university and hence, I speak English fluently. Besides, I worked in Russia and learnt Russian language also.

As a passionate linguist, I made my debut in the translation and localization world in 2014, when I was only a freshman in the university. I started as an intern and ended up to be freelance translator at SDL Turkey for 2 years. During this period of time, I gained immense amount of experience and I learned how to use multiple translation tools. Following that, I worked for a transcription company and made transcriptions of voice records both in English and Turkish. Finally, I started working with Localex in 2017 and that was one of the best decisions I made regarding my profession. During my time in SDL plc. and Localex I made translations, reviews and proof-reading in a wide variety of fields such as law, IT, marketing, legal, medical, gaming. I have been a freelance vendor for various localization projects since 2013, mostly working with SDL, El Turco and Localex. I have a diploma in Translation and Interpretation Studies from one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey, and I have spent 3 months in Canada to enhance my technical competencies upon its completion. I have gained technical experience in English-Turkish technology translation for press with major companies such as Nokia, alongside translation for other diverse subjects. I also possess some knowledge of Russian and German, although my expertise lies in English-Turkish and Turkish-English translation.

My Freelance Translator Journey Before putting an end to my career as an officer in the Army I had chance of doing great volume of translation works at the highest HQ of Army for 7 years from English to my native language, Turkish, in the area of military, security, defense, international security, arms control, disarmament, peacekeeping operations, peace support operations and crisis management. Besides that experience as a translator I worked at United Nations Lebanon mission (UNIFIL) Operations Center which is one the most important and longest missions of United Nations in the context of peacekeeping that gave me priceless experience on crisis management, peacekeeping, peace support and international security and its of course terminology. Not only this honorable mission did gave me experience but also I organised many events and attended at many meetings, workshops, seminars, events and courses in the area of disarmament and arms control in United Nations, OSCE and NATO.
