I have been translating from English to my native Turkish since 1995. I have a n engineering background and a solid industrial experience in manufacturing, QA/QC and OHSA fields.

I graduated from Translation and Interpreting Studies Department in the year of 2012. As an undergraduate student at Boğaziçi University, I have improved my English speaking skills through the courses. Moreover, I cannot deny the great contribution of my visiting the USA and working there for three months. During my education I worked at different places, such as publishing houses, translation offices so as to gain experiences. Apart from translating legal and business documents for various local and international translation companies as a freelance translator, I have also edited a number of books, stories, poems and other creative texts. I also completed my M.A. in Comperative Literature at Istanbul Bilgi University, which contributed my academic and linguistic skills. Following that, I started my Phd at Translation and Interpreting Studies Department at Yıldız Technical University in 2017.

After working in real estate and banking sectors, I decided to pursue my career as a full-time freelance translator. I provide translation, localisation and editing services in Turkish - English and vice versa with a daily output around 4,000 words. I am specialised in banking, finance, legal, foreign trade and marketing areas as well as logistics, IT, construction, technology and similar areas. I am capable of using Trados, Memsource, memoQ and Verifika CAT and QA tools other than Smartcat. I have been doing translations since 2006. I'm also running a translation agency, however that's a separate business, and you can be sure that all translations at smartcat are done by me personally. I am a certified translator, conference interpreter, engineer and Candidate of technical sciences (kandidat nauk). My language-related hobbies include etymology and comparative linguistics. * Yes, I do speak several languages. * No, I am not fluent enought in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Polish, Azerbaijani or Arabic to translate TO these languages, but I do understand them enough to translate FROM them.

I worked for many translation offices in Turkey and abroad as a freelancer. In my 18 years as a freelancer I have helped a great number of businesses improve their market share by improving their documentation and communication. My clients include advertising agencies, public relations firms, company marketing departments, large stores, marketing firms, magazines, TV's and creative agencies. Also I was working as interviewer for UNHCR on the verification of registration data of Syrian refugees in Ankara.As a native Turkish, I am fluent in Arabic and English.
