I graduated from Translation and Interpreting Studies Department in the year of 2012. As an undergraduate student at Boğaziçi University, I have improved my English speaking skills through the courses. Moreover, I cannot deny the great contribution of my visiting the USA and working there for three months. During my education I worked at different places, such as publishing houses, translation offices so as to gain experiences. Apart from translating legal and business documents for various local and international translation companies as a freelance translator, I have also edited a number of books, stories, poems and other creative texts. I also completed my M.A. in Comperative Literature at Istanbul Bilgi University, which contributed my academic and linguistic skills. Following that, I started my Phd at Translation and Interpreting Studies Department at Yıldız Technical University in 2017.

I have been a freelance vendor for various localization projects since 2013, mostly working with SDL, El Turco and Localex. Working as localization specialist for major accounts in IT, marketing, ERP, technical and legal since 2015. Before being freelancer, I have worked in company which is exclusive SAP SE localization partner in Turkey. I took part in localization of corporate and legal texts as well as translation processes of the SAP SE systems. Aside from ERP, I have gained experience in IT, marketing and technical texts. During my career, I have also worked as a project manager for 9 months and managed projects for major companies from IT, marketing (mainly tourism and travel) and technical fields.

I am a native Turkish speaker and a certified translator/interpreter with over 10 years of experience in translation, interpreting and proofreading. I have studied and lived in English speaking countries for many years. I started working as a full-time sworn in-house translator in 2007 and worked continuously for the the same translation/localization agency for 10 years until March 2017. I have been working as a professional translator since sophomore class. After having graduated from Bilkent University's Translation and Interpretation Department in 2002, I worked in several sectors including media and advertisement, while also continuing my profession as a freelancer. For 4 years from early 2003 to 2007, I served as Foreign News and Health Page Editor in national newspaper Tercüman. In the meanwhile, for six issues I served as editor in chief for a monthly alternative health magazine called Bioenergy & Vitamins. Also in 2003, I established my own publishing and music production company, Arkaplan, together with my childhood friends. With Arkaplan we produced several music albums and published more than 10 books. One of the books (ISBN No: 9756128046) was my own title, covering my criticisms -as a young foreign news editor- on the history of Turkish conservative movement. In 2007, I decided to leave media sector and refocused on my original profession in linguistics.
