I have been doing freelance translations from German/English into Turkish since my college education. I have been providing professional translation, proofreading, editing, and transcription services for 6 years now. To refer to my educational background, I completed my BSc and MSc studies in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Sakarya University, Turkey, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. I was awarded a scholarship by Turkish Government to study PhD abroad in July 2007. After taking English course in Brighton, UK, and getting the sufficient IELTS score, I started to study PhD in the end of January 2008 in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester in the UK completing with a distinguished thesis in October 2012. My research areas vary from power electronics, wind energy conversion systems, control systems, power systems, renewable energy technologies, power conversion, converter design and control, electrical machines, avionics, blockchain to smart grids

I have been working with many national and international translation offices on Free Lance Basis particularly in Engineering, Marketing and Business Issues particularly experienced in Contracts, Tender Documents, Marketing Documents (Such as Avon, Hilton websites, bulletins and training documents), Hazardous Materials & Emergency Response Training Files for Ministry of Defense, and also Medical Documents like MSDS, various certificates for medical devices, various types of catheter manuals and some Mechanical Engineering issues such as manuals of some Pumps, Motors, Machines and on many other issues both for translation and proofreading. For editing, I performed many translation check projects for websites of international customers such as Avon, Hilton etc.

I have graduated from the Translation and Interpreting Studies / Yeditepe University.

I am a native Turkish speaker and a certified translator/interpreter with over 10 years of experience in translation, interpreting and proofreading. I have studied and lived in English speaking countries for many years. I started working as a full-time sworn in-house translator in 2007 and worked continuously for the the same translation/localization agency for 10 years until March 2017. I have literally been involved in every aspect of translation and localization industry and had the chance to develop my skills and understanding in various fields of translation profession, notably technical, legal, business and marketing fields as a result of regular daily translation assignments (ranging from 2000 to 4000 words) over the last decade. I may not be a graduate of language and translation studies (my background includes Political Science and Sociology) but I firmly believe that what I lack in formal training I more than make up for with 10 years of daily on-the-job experience.
