My name is Åsa and I'm a freelancer in translation, editing and localization and very interested in working with you! Swedish is my mother tongue, and for the past two years I have lived and worked in London. For two years I have worked as a freelancer at Upwork (formerly oDesk), mainly with data entry, localization and translation. During this time I have honed several skills, such as working quickly, accurately and always with the client\'s need in mind. Many tasks consisted of Swedish localization of English terms, which has greatly increased my acumen and speed. Although at university I studied primarily philosophy (but also history as an undergraduate), I have always had a strong interest in English language and literature and have taken every opportunity to pursue this interest; for example during summers in Edinburgh and London. Spending most of my spare time reading has also increased my knowledge and understanding of the English language and how best to translate it. During my time at Swedish universities much of the teaching was conducted in English and I wrote virtually every paper and thesis in the language I love. I also spent an exchange term at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

I am a Swedish native, grown up in south Sweden and studied and worked in Stockholm. I also have experience to the Swedish spoken in Finland, and I speak or understand seven other European languages - making it easy for me to compare. I also have other non-translation work experience in business, finance, corporate polices and journalism. As my studies range from archaeology to physics, I have a wide range of knowledge that is handy when translating. I translate both formal and informal text. Formal texts concern often integrity and privacy and other policies. As I have ample of experience with policy writing, I understand the complexity and the need for coherence. I prefer tasks where there is more space to consider as this is one of the best guarantees for a quality work. I also have in-house native Czech proof reading on university lecturer level, and university level Latin services.
