I'm a Catalan - English - Italian - Spanish freelance translator. I specialise in Biomedicine, Science, IT (Google & Apple), Sports, and Journalism. I also proofread texts in Spanish and Catalan. My daily translation output is around 2,500 - 3,000 words. In the near future, I want to translate literature (one of my great passions). My name is Cristina Fernández and I am a full-time Spanish translator and proofreader. I hold a degree in Translation and Interpreting (University of Salamanca, 2012). I am native in Spanish (EU) and I am fluent in English and French. I have 10 years of experience, one as an in-house Project Manager for a Spanish Agency (McFelder Translations) and 9 as a freelancer, working with several agencies as well as direct clients (Booking.com, Amazon.com and others).

From 1990 to 1995, I was involved in a Bible translation project for the Pemon tribe in Venezuela. At the beginning of 2012 I joined Editorial Renuevo, where I became a bilingual editor of books, which we published once a month, mostly in Spanish. Later our company committed to publishing each book in both Spanish and English versions. My skills include MS Word, creating macros in Word, Excel and Access, editing Spanish and English and translations from one to the other. I also assigned editing and translation projects to off-site workers and held weekly online meetings to keep us all sharp in our skills. I learned to program databases in Filemaker Pro, using them to help me stay in control of the department.
