Hello! My name is Vilma Hinkelammert. I´m a Costa Rican translator, a Spanish philologist and I´m studying for a Master´s Degree in linguistics. I have also worked as proofreader and copy editor for academic journals. I have experience in different fields such as education, e-commerce, linguistics, social sciences, migration and websites. I have been working as a freelance translator for the last five years and as proofreader for the last ten years. I also find the process of researching a subject to ensure a solid translation to be particularly satisfying, as well as investigating the expressive possibilities of my target language, an aspect of the translation process that is often overlooked and yet an important element of the quality of the final product. I have experience using tools such as Trados or Memsource, as well as the various reliable reference sources for each language (DIEC; Treccani; RAE; Τριανταφυλλίδη...). The type of translation that most attracts my attention is literary, although I have extensive demonstrable experience in the field of technical translation (recent projects being for the nautical and stone industry).
