Hi! I'm Nick. To start with, I have a significant experience in Ru->En and En->Ru translation and software localization. I've spent 2,5 years in JSC PROGNOZ (a large international company) and almost 2 years already as a freelancer in such companies as SDL, Lionbridge, ABBYY LS and SmartCAT being engaged in translating and proofreading various texts for EMC, Microsoft, LG, ZEISS, Siemens, Roche, etc. I have a university degree in translation and linguistics and a college degree in finance and law.

In 2018, I graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Economics with a bachelor's degree in Linguistics. I majored in Translation in Economics and Finance. In 2020, I graduated from the St. Petersburg State University with a master’s degree in International Relations. I majored in Studies of the Baltic and Nordic Countries. Seeking a position of translator with organizations/companies engaged in international cooperation and external relations. I have the skills of technical/literary/scientific translation, business correspondence and document management, translation of contracts, text editing and proofreading. I am a freelance English-Russian/Russian-English translator, specializing primarily in medical, scientific, and technical (such as instructions, material datasheets) fields, videogames (in-game localization and marketing materials). My approximate daily output is 2500 words per working day. I am open to participating in your translation projects :)

I have over 25 years of experience as a freelance translator, in various fields. I started as a translatir of fiction and non-fiction books for the Popurri Publishing House in Minsk, Belarus, in early 1990s. Later I was enrolled on a EU Tacis technical assitance project dealing with employment sevices as a transportation officer/translator where I was responsible, among other things, for delivering everyday translations. In parallel, I did freelance jobs for various translation agencies and the above publishing house. In total, I have worked on 6 international projects in various fields from climate change to biodiversity protection in Grodno Region in Belarus. As a result, I have acquired a solid experience in various areas of expertise as a translator/interpreter. For the last 8 years I have worked as a technical writer for a software company based in Toronto, and with a subsidiary office in Minsk. I have been responsible for online help, manuals, website management, customer support, traslation and transcription/subtitling. I must mention a special experience of mine. For the last 4-5 years, I have been very successfully collaborating with a UK-based translation agency which almost entirely deals with healthcare and pharmacology-related translations. A lion share of this work has been from Russian to English. My previous experience working as a crew member on international TA projects had helped me polish this particular language pair. As can be seen from the above, my translation work has been extensive and thorough. Working with me, you can rely on very accurate translations deliver always on time. Extensive experience in: – technical literature translation (general technology, production equipment, transport, communications equipment and systems; IT technologies and systems: measuring and computing equipment; medical translations – therapy, diagnostics, pharmacology, medical equipment) etc. from Russian into English and from English into Russian; – developing technical documentation (user and service guides, instruction booklets, user interfaces etc., incl. in accordance with international methods and standards); – writing articles, essays, advertising texts, reviews, presentations, participating in conferences and shows. Skills and capabilities: Windows and Mac office software skills, some experience in software development environments.
