My translation career encompasses diverse areas, from movie industry (translating for Hollywood film stars (Jon Voight, Sammi Davis) to translating for roughnecks on drilling rigs in Siberia. This hands-on experience in various occupations, combined with technical background in survey & mapping, allows me to produce accurate, precise translations of even the most complicated texts. I have been working as a freelance translator since 2006, with more than 6 million words translated to date. I first started my translation career in mid 1980-ies with a few odd translation / interpretation jobs of a few months each. I then went on to work as a staff translator for the first Soviet-US JV White Nights in 1990 and continued to pursue this career with several other JVs and US companies until 2006, when I became a full-time freelance translator. Besides working as a translator during that period, I also held several other positions in procurement, logistics and administration at these companies, which subsequently proved to be a valuable source of knowledge for my work as an independent translator after 2006.

I provide a high-quality Law, Bank, Marketing, IT, Technical, and Oil&Gas translation. I have over 15 years of experience in the translation industry, including 5 practicing law, 5 as a freelance translator in IT-company, and 10 years as a technical translator in a well-known oil&gas company. I'm proficient with CAT-Tools and different CRMs, including skills in content localization, and project management. Native Russian and fluent English, and Finnish. I live in St. Petersburg for half a year, and half a year i live in Finland.

I am a certified translator, conference interpreter, engineer and Candidate of technical sciences (kandidat nauk). WHO I AM: Bilingual since birth I have always had an immence interest in two things: Music and Languages. Throughout my life i had many opportunities and demands to perform translation tasks on a personal and a professional level as well as privatly teaching languages.
