English and Portuguese Languages Teacher and Translator

I am a Brazilian native translator working with the English-Portuguese pair for the past 5 years. Before that, I’ve worked in the IT industry for over 20 years in the software sector, having ample knowledge of software development, project management, and business processes. As a translator, I have worked with texts and videos on artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality as well as tutorials and articles on products from big players in the industry such as Microsoft, Google, Kaspersky, and others. In the medical field, I have translated protocols for clinical trials, questionnaires, and investigator’s brochures on new drugs. I am also a volunteer translator and reviewer at TED where I work with talks on multiple subjects.

I've started translating IT content. As a freelancer, I work mainly with IT, Games, Literature and Medical content.

I have been translating technical, business and private contents from English to Portuguese for more than 10 years. Throughout this time, I have translated and proofread documents such as, hospital equipment catalog, questionnaire, medical forms, surveys, restaurant menus, letters, product list, prenuptial agreement, nautical manual, children and adult apps, casino games, real state software among other documents. Besides my current position as a freelance Translator, I have some experience in Subtitling, considering rules of synchronization and how to use subtitling software. I can also act as a Transcriptionist, understanding basic rules of verbatim and true verbatim transcription.

I am an English teacher and translator, with fluent level of English and native Brazilian Portuguese.

I have been working as full-time translator in various English to Brazilian Portuguese freelance projects since February 2013. During this time, I translated over 1,000,000 words in hundreds of projects for various clients, as well as proofread/edited hundreds of translations. My work experience has been focused on the education and health sectors, but I also concluded a diverse range of projects that include the translation of games, subtitles for feature films, workers' CVs, and several legal agreements and contracts.

Lucas Favaretto Tazinafo is a Bachelor of Biomedicine, Specialist in Clinical Analysis, Master of Biosciences and Doctor of Immunology and Pathophysiology by the University of São Paulo (USP). He is currently working as a translator, uniting his passion for the English language with science. In his free time, he is an enthusiast of video games and tabletop games, like RPG and collectable card games.
