I offer localization and translation services for games, books and documents (English> Portuguese). Some of my work of translator is the volunteer translation to Portuguese of the games Fallout: Shelter (to be released) and the translation, adaptation and revising of the game Dragon Age 2, wich has more than 345,000 words, both work for Tribo Gamer site. I'm not fluent in English, but I have practical experience.

I am a transparent, goal-oriented, and perfectionist professional with a positive perspective. I enjoy remote work and carefully follow instructions and I find it easy to work for long periods including during the night and maintain my attention to detail. That comes, of course, from having a genuine interest in Languages and Translation since I was a child and constant curiosity in researching different topics. I have a bachelor's degree in social communication and computer science, but i worked full-time with translation for the last 6 years. I have experience translating I.T. and automation areas, literature, digital games, board games and other technical texts.

Ricardo Jevoux is an experienced English translator and native speaker of Portuguese from Rio de Janeiro. He lives in Portugal where he works as a freelance linguist. His specializations are the localization of games and software, legal translations, manuals in the subject of engineering and pedagogy and particularly challenging texts. I started at Demand Media Studios and WikiHow back in 2013 translating do-it-yourself and general knowledge articles. Then, I moved to Upwork and Elance to try and build partnerships with some direct clients. 534 tracked hours on Upwork and 390 contracts since 2014. 549,371 words translated on Gengo, with more than 1,287 tracked hours. 7,780 words on MotaWord since 2015. Some of the biggest names I have worked with are MUBI, Greenvelope, Flipboard, Flo, and Kerb.

My experience as a translator ranges from technical documents to entertainment texts. I am a Law Bachelor and I have worked as a tax advisor, writing and proofreading documents in both English and Portuguese as daily jobs. I worked also on the Brazilian localization of EA’s FIFA 18 and Need for Speed Payback. My job was to ensure all texts and audio were properly translated for the Brazilian market, checking if these assets were correctly implemented in-game and that they fitted the game style and natural flow of the language. Such experience lit my desire of building bridges between different cultures and breaking down the language barriers between them. In my case, Portuguese is spoken by more than 255 million people, of which 210 million are Brazilians alone. However, the majority of the lusophone population has no understanding of the English language, and English speakers too have generally no knowledge of Portuguese. This is an obstacle I want to help undo.
