I was raised Trilingual in Haiti speaking French, Haitian Creole and English (Level C2). Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese (Level C1) for I have been living and studying in Brazil since 2017. I speak Intermediate Spanish (Level B2). Part time freelance translator since 2016 and have done work related interpretation on a daily basis since 2014. My name is Sérgio Eduardo, and I work as a professional freelance translator since 2004, with experience in technical manuals, corporate documentation, cloud software and websites/web content localization. Born in Portugal, I have lived in Brazil for the most of my life. That gives me an unique advange and a deep understanding of both regional and demographic variations. My passion lies in translation, entrepreneurship and helping people. After studying business administration at London Metropolitan University, I began my career working in finance, energy and telecommunications in Maputo, Mozambique. In 2013, I founded Navitas Group Lda, a company that aimed to disrupt the stagnant translation market in Mozambique. Mainly, I want to focus on using translation to facilitate communication between individuals and companies, as well as participating in entrepreneurial endeavors that catalyze socio-economic development. I have a depth of experience working in telecommunications, energy and new business development as well as 19 years of experience of translation and intercultural communication. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Translation and Localization Project Management at the University of Maryland, thus honing my translation skills, incorporating CAT Tools, MT and project management techniques into our company workflow and service delivery.

A self-taught English speaker in love with games, technology, and literature. I'm an undergraduate in the Linguistics areas, with a research published concerning translation studies. As such, I have been working as a translator for 8 years as a freelancer, specialized in game and fantasy stories. I am native Portuguese with excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills and I have almost as great skills in English. My brain is definitely bilingual. I have been a freelance Professional Translator since 2013, specializing in Business, Marketing and Social Sciences. However, I have also performed successful translations in many other different fields, such as website and app contents, legal contracts, technical manuals, automotive systems, coaching materials, among others. I am very detail and quality oriented. Before that, I was an Administrative Assistant for over 5 years. I translated some website articles as a volunteer (since 2010) and I worked for an import/export company where I was responsible for all external communications (English/Spanish). I also performed some translation work in one of the companies I worked in. I use SDL Trados 2011, but I always check my translations, sentence by sentence, for grammar, meaning and vocabulary use - no automatic translations! I am also very proficient in manual translations, which many clients demand in order to attain better quality.
