My name's Joanna Taras. I've been an English teacher for more than 10 years and a freelance translator for over 4 - although it goes further than that, as I've always been passionate about the language – reading, translating, and improving my skills. I have very good organizational skills and work well under pressure. Furthermore, I'm a conscientious person and meet deadlines perfectly.

I am a native Polish speaker with years of experience with English. I've been in touch with English language ever since I can remember, which led to me gaining CAE Cambridge Advanced English certificate in february 2021. To this day, I'm using both Polish and English on a daily basis.

I am a freelance German/English <> Polish translator specialising in technical, marketing and community translations. I also hold credentials of a NAATI Certified Translator (English to Polish) and a NAATI Recognised Practising Translator (German to Polish), for the latter as the only translator with such credentials in Australia. I am a member of POLSiT (the Australian Institute of the Polish Language Interpreters and Translators) and AUSIT (the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators).

I specialize in legal/finance/business/marketing and general translations. I use various CAT and I am willing to learn new tools as required. I work in flexible hours depending on open projects. I´m experienced in specialized texts (health, medicine and pharmaceutics, technology, economy, finance, law, marketing, cosmetics and others). I've got a C1 Certificate of Spanish (DELE), preparing for C2. I´ve got a Master´s degree in Specialized Translation (FR-ES, EN-ES) from the University of Cordoba, Spain. I also studied French Philology at the Jagiellonian University of Cracow, Poland (Bachelor). I always meet deadlines and I use specialized sources to guarantee the correct use of terminology.
