Hello everyone, my name is Lea. I am a Korean-born German citizen, with a passion for learning languages. Having lived in multiple countries (Korea, France, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg), I am fluent in French, English and Korean (my mother tongue), and have an intermediate level of German. I completed a bilingual International Baccalaureate diploma in 2017, and have been studying in Geneva, the French-speaking region of Switzerland. In the 5 years where I have been in business, both as an in-house and a freelance translator, I have gained extensive experience in different fields such as commercial, legal, financial, technical and general translation. I am an advanced user of SDL Trados studio CAT tool, with proficient knowledge of Microsoft word, MemoQ, Across, Wordfast, among others.

I have a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Technical Translation. After my studies, I have decided to become a Freelance translator specialized in marketing and technical translations. I also spent two months as a Marketing Assistant and Translator in Brighton, UK and worked for prestigious cosmetics and clothing brands.

I strongly believe that to translate accurately, one needs to master not only the languages and translation techniques but also the subject in both the source and target languages. From 1990 to 2003, I worked mainly as programmer, using various languages such as Fortran, Pascal, C, Visual Basic, SQL, Javascript and Perl and as system administrator, setting computers and networks and familiar with UNIX, and most of Windows OS and Mac OS versions. - From 2001 to 2010, I worked as French translator in an in-house translation department, translating over 7 millions words.
