I have been working as a freelance translator for the past 21 years. I do not own a university degree in translation/interpretation, but the multitude of translation projects I have worked on over the years has done more for my capacity as a translator than any degree could have ever done. Though French is my mother tongue, I have spent the last 21 years living both in French and English (my partner is an American citizen). As a translator, I am both thorough and efficient, and I always meet my deadlines. I also believe that my work with the French Foreign Affairs, carried out through assignments of 2 to 3-year terms in various posts around the world (El Salvador, the United States, France, The Netherlands, Latvia, Switzerland and now Monaco) constitutes a definite asset for this position. Additionally to the classes about electro-technics, fabrication processes in the automobile industry and nanotechnologies I took while I was studying conference interpreting at the University of Saarland, I have work experience as in-house translator in a technical translation agency and an e-commerce company that offers a wide variety of professional products - from deep fryers and refrigerators to tools and massage tables. Furthermore, I am very interested in renewable energies, environment protection, electric vehicles, food and drinks, and video games. Up to now, I have mostly translated product description, CRM messages, marketing content and user's manuals. I believe that a good translation is easy to read and feels natural in the target language.
