My name is David. I am a French native speaker translator. As an expatriate, I am constantly dealing with different languages and culture. I have a long experience in Learning and development area, working in a Corporate environment and in Global teams. My main activity was trainer/consultant however it included translating content from HR world (communications, training materials, processes, support materials) but also from other areas: gaming, technical instructions for industry, health and safety, travelling, health, blog article, organisation of events, financial reports from NGO... I don't translate word-by-word but I make sure the final product reflects customer's culture and environment. I write sentences as the native French would speak. I love translating legal documents (e.g. contracts, certificates, notarial certificates, licenses, patents, apostilles, legalizations) and other documents such as books, emails, academic transcripts, websites, and user guides.

I am a certified court translator and interpreter for English, with over 30 years of work experience in translation, proofreading, editing, transcription etc. in English, German, French, Croatian, Bosnian, and Serbian. Over the years I have acquired extensive knowledge of legal, business, marketing, and other terminology. I also have significant experience in the fields of cooking and food, agriculture, kitchen and home appliances, and IT. I have been working in companies in Hamburg for the past two years as a student assistant. In the last two jobs I had (one at a statistics company and another at an international cooperation NGO) I have been tasked regularly to translate documents from French to English and from English to French. Additionally, I grew up in the bilingual city of Montréal where these two languages are used interchangeably. I did all my elementary and secondary education in French and all my university (first and second cycles) in English.
