Hi, I am Olive, a reliable EN to FR (native) Freelance Translator with over four years of experience. I hold a Master's degree in translation and a Bachelor degree in bilingual letters. I am also a trained teacher (since 2007). My objective is not to transfer words from one language into another, but to make them meaningful to a whole different cultural audience, while taking into consideration the spirit and nuances of the original. As a language teacher, I know how to avoid the mistakes I ask my students to avoid. In the performance of my task, I always use relevant documentation and tools, as well as appropriate terminology, to make sure the translations read natural. I am French and Swiss German, grew up and did a Law Phd in France and in French: French being considered as my mother tongue, even though I grew up in German, but anyhow… My Dad has had the opportunity to spend a few years in the States (Westchester County, NY) and we of course followed him. We visited the American school system (7th grade on my side) and learned English there. Wonderful experience! As for my professional experience, my unique international background allowed me to provide timely and professional legal services, such as conducting legal researches, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and providing legal advice. I am now looking forward to embrace this new challenge giving me a new start. I have been working as a freelance translator for the past 21 years. I do not own a university degree in translation/interpretation, but the multitude of translation projects I have worked on over the years has done more for my capacity as a translator than any degree could have ever done. Though French is my mother tongue, I have spent the last 21 years living both in French and English (my partner is an American citizen). As a translator, I am both thorough and efficient, and I always meet my deadlines. I also believe that my work with the French Foreign Affairs, carried out through assignments of 2 to 3-year terms in various posts around the world (El Salvador, the United States, France, The Netherlands, Latvia, Switzerland and now Monaco) constitutes a definite asset for this position. My experience in the field of diplomatic relations means that I am already used to working in an international environment, in foreign countries, and with people of different backgrounds/cultures.

I am a meticulous and dedicated French< >English and Swahili< >English translator with a Masters degree in Translation from the University of Nairobi. I have worked with translation agencies, local and international companies, NGOs, the UN and government agencies where I consistently delivered timely and accurate translations. In the 5 years where I have been in business, both as an in-house and a freelance translator, I have gained extensive experience in different fields such as commercial, legal, financial, technical and general translation. I am an advanced user of SDL Trados studio CAT tool, with proficient knowledge of Microsoft word, MemoQ, Across, Wordfast, among others.

I am currently enrolled in a Multilingual Master in Psycho- and Neurolinguistics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). I studied French, Latin and English language and literature at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven). I also have studied medicine at the University of Liège (ULiège).

I have an extensive background in working as a full-time Russian/English and English/Russian interpreter and a freelance translator specilizing in technical translation.

I am a native French freelance translator (full time). I am fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese. I have a master's degree in Languages and International Affairs (English and Japanese) from Orléans University and a master's degree in Chinese language from (Chongqing's) Southwest University. I also studied in a Japanese university as an exchange student for 1 year and had 1 year working holiday in Tokyo. I did several internships and short-term jobs for international trade companies, including 8 months in Chinese companies in China where I did import and export related jobs, market research and international customer research. Not only I have knowledge in the field of Business and marketing, but I am also interested in various fields, such as cinema, history, travelling, comics and especially video games.
