Hello everyone, my name is Lea. I am a Korean-born German citizen, with a passion for learning languages. Having lived in multiple countries (Korea, France, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg), I am fluent in French, English and Korean (my mother tongue), and have an intermediate level of German. I completed a bilingual International Baccalaureate diploma in 2017, and have been studying in Geneva, the French-speaking region of Switzerland. I am currently attending the University of Strasbourg, with a double major in Economics & Management and Foreign Applied Languages (English, German) I have prior experience in online subtitle translating on a video platform, language tutoring, as well as interpreting between Korean and French/English speakers. I have a 9 years experience, having translated more than a million words all in all in my career, not counting all the translations I do for fun because I just like it ! I have a degree in biological engineering, completed by my vast general culture and professional experience in leadership positions in various companies, which means I can handle very well any topic from medicine to finance and marketing through video games and social sciences. I'm originally from Belgium but I now live in Côte d'Ivoire, which means I can do translations localized for both European and African audiences. My mantra is : if it sounds good, then it is good. It is utmost important for me that the audience cannot guess that they are reading a translation : they must feel as if the document was originally written by a native speaker. That is my objective. I'm also very strict regarding to spelling and typography since French has its own specific rules on capitals, brackets, etc. You won't be disappointed.

I've always had a passion for languages! Born in France, I grew up speaking French and learning English and German in school from an early age. I also touched on Italian, Spanish and Greek. But ultimately, my career led me to focus on English. I left France at the age of 30, stayed for 2 years in the USA, and have now been living in Canada since 2015. My background is scientific: I have several degrees in the biomedical and life sciences fields, including a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. I have over 10 years of experience in healthcare and research. During that time, I also offered translation services in my field as a secondary part-time activity. As of 2020, I am now a full-time translator English-to-French and French-to-English. My main interests remain in the medical/health sciences field, but I am also interested in a variety of other subjects that are not necessarily science related. I look forward to working with you on exciting new projects!
