I am a freelance translator looking for career opportunities. My technical skills are up to date, and I use various CAT tools (Matecat, Smartcat, Memsource). I own SDL Trados Studio 2022, SDL Multiterm 2022 and PDF Escape licences. My work is always carefully reviewed and done on time, as I am very organized, motivated and punctual.

Born in Paris to a bi-lingual family, I grew up speaking English, French and Hausa natively. I spent most of my childhood in Saudi Arabia where I got to learn Arabic. Travelling around the world made me develop high cultural sensitivity skills. As a subcontractor, I have had the opportunity to translate for top hotel brands, financial institutions and UN specialized institutions, including Marriott, the Islamic Development Bank, the World Health Organization.

I used to work as researcher in biology. I did my PhD in Paris, followed by a three year postdoc in Germany. Since June 2017, I'm trying to switch career to a language related one. My 6 years experience in an academic setting provided me with expertise not only in theoretical and experimental biology, programming and office software, but also in writing and proofreading scientific articles in both English and French.

Arabic is my other native language

I have been working in companies in Hamburg for the past two years as a student assistant. In the last two jobs I had (one at a statistics company and another at an international cooperation NGO) I have been tasked regularly to translate documents from French to English and from English to French. Additionally, I grew up in the bilingual city of Montréal where these two languages are used interchangeably. I did all my elementary and secondary education in French and all my university (first and second cycles) in English.

For 23 years, my life and professional experiences (both in the private and public sectors) have given me expertise in many fields such as ICT, HR, organic agriculture, short circuits, alternative medicines, etc. I am a cyber-nomad who likes to discover and translation allows me to learn and share new knowledges to the greatest number of people.
