My name is Martin Sonia, a professional translator. I have been working with the GENGO team since 2014.

I have been into translation for over a decade now, I am passionate about this work and have helped translate thousands of files for my clients in different fields.

I am a transparent, goal-oriented, and perfectionist professional with a positive perspective. I enjoy remote work and carefully follow instructions and I find it easy to work for long periods including during the night and maintain my attention to detail. That comes, of course, from having a genuine interest in Languages and Translation since I was a child and constant curiosity in researching different topics. I provide translation, retroversion, proofreading, transcription, and captioning services in general and specialized domains with appropriate technical resources. I would also like to add that I can handle deadlines just fine.

During the past six years, I have gathered extensive experience in translation from English, German, Portuguese, and Spanish into French. I am an industrious, self-driven, disciplined, dynamic, organized individual with excellent interpersonal skills. I am an enthusiast of languages and cultures and I therefore yearn to expand my knowledge and thus improve on my competency in this sector. I am currently enrolled in a Multilingual Master in Psycho- and Neurolinguistics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). I studied French, Latin and English language and literature at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven). I also have studied medicine at the University of Liège (ULiège).

I have an extensive background in working as a full-time Russian/English and English/Russian interpreter and a freelance translator specilizing in technical translation.
