I am a senior French translator (EN, ES and PT into FR) with 12 years of experience in economics, business, and legal translation (and 7 years of prior experience in IT services sales teams). I have a comprehensive knowledge of CAT and DTP tools and strong skills in text editing, terminology management and project coordination. I first graduated from a French Business School (EDHEC 1995) and worked as an IT services saleswoman for 7 years (sectors: aeronautics and defence; health industry). Then I quit my position to study translation for 3 years, graduated from the ESIT in 2007, and joined the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance as a translator the same year (after a competitive examination). In 2014, I joined the OECD French translation division (after another competitive examination) to work mainly on the BEPS Project (OECD/G20 project to fight tax evasion). In 2020, I started working as a freelancer, which allowed me to move from Paris to Normandy (life quality: +3000%).

I strongly believe that to translate accurately, one needs to master not only the languages and translation techniques but also the subject in both the source and target languages. I am also convinced that to be an efficient translator, one needs to be flexible, be able to work alone or within a constantly moving team and have good organisational skills. I am a graduate of the Parisian school ISIT (Institute of Intercultural Management and Communication). Most of my experience has been with journalistic and administrative associations. I already had to carry out translations while respecting strict deadlines. For example, I assisted a group of translators in translating and proofreading newsletters and articles from French into English and from English into French, the deadlines for the newsletters being the same. Similarly, I have worked as a freelance translator and have proven capable of dealing quickly with orders with short deadlines occurring during evenings or week-ends. My most recent job as a data entry contributor has taught me to look quickly and efficiently for specific information and to determine by myself how valid a given source is. It has also taught me how to work as part of a team through a decentralised working environment where all communications are done through emails or business chats.

I am a French native speaker. I am an experienced, highly-proficient, intuitive Translator. I have a Bachelor Degree in Information and Communication studies and a Masters in Film Analysis and Scriptwriting. Thanks to my studies, I can manage technical translations on those fields: IT and telecom, marketing and business, sociology, linguistics, fiction, script, arts and culture. Because of my interests in fashion, travel and food, I am also good at translating those areas. I have translated several documents including novels, academic papers, biographies, websites, subtitles files. My academic background has required a perfect mastery of French, which I have also been able to exploit in the pursuit of my personal editorial projects. I am able to guarantee the highest quality since I proofread all my translations, cross-referencing terminology sources and using an extensive library of dictionaries and technical sources.

I have a 9 years experience, having translated more than a million words all in all in my career, not counting all the translations I do for fun because I just like it ! I have a degree in biological engineering, completed by my vast general culture and professional experience in leadership positions in various companies, which means I can handle very well any topic from medicine to finance and marketing through video games and social sciences. I'm originally from Belgium but I now live in Côte d'Ivoire, which means I can do translations localized for both European and African audiences. My mantra is : if it sounds good, then it is good.
