Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English. Since 2000, when I started my translator's career, I've managed to translate millions of words in a great range of fields, from fiction to medicine.

Hello! I am a native English speaker just finishing a degree in Modern Languages from the University of Bristol, specifically in Russian, German and Czech. I am new to professional translation work, but more than ready to take on new challenges!

I am native Czech speaker, freelance translator and interpreter. I do mostly general, business, legal, medical and technical translations. I am also experienced in website translations, product description and marketing translations. I can do upto 6.500 words a day. I studied BA Filmmaking in London. During my 11 years stay in London I started working as an interpreter for few companies. I was interpreting to clients in hospitals, clients in social services and on art exhibitions. I have been also tranlating and proofreading projects, documents and surveys from English to Czech, Czech to English, English to Slovak, Slovak to English in number of London based call centres, and other types of businesses and individuals. Nowadays I work as a freelance translator.

English is my second language but half of my family is German. Since I do not speak fluent German, we communicate in English since my childhood. I am very confident in speaking, writing and reading. I consider myself bilingual.

My name is Lada Zahlavova and I was born on 5th January 1981 in The Czech Republic. Languages have been my passion since the very childhood and so has been also biology and writing. I have been a freelancer since 2010. before that period I worked as a tour guide and a travel agency assistant. My main branches are teaching and translating. I have been translating professionally since 2011. Since then, I have translated almost 80 thousand words of various documents. I focus mainly on Electrotechnic, legal, IT- technology, medical and food industry. I am a Registered Nurse and Social Worker and have worked in many different health and community sectors, thus this has proven to be a huge positive for getting medical translation or proofreading work. I have also worked in sales, customer service and business development thus a big plus to work within the business sector to translate etc. I also interpret for appointments, exams, conferences, trade shows here in the Czech Republic from Eng to Cze or vice versa.
